DIVINE SERVICE TAKE HOME POINTS

Text : John 14:6a

[6a]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:

This verse is one of the I Am Statements of Jesus


Jesus as the Way

- Jesus is the one sure way to the Father.

- Salvation can only be found in Christ. (If it is Salvation that I want, then I have no other alternative than to believe in Jesus.)



Jesus as the Truth

- Jesus alone is the truth. He does not only teach the truth but He is also the truth Himself.

- Jesus as the truth fulfils the teaching of the Old Testament and reveals the true God.


Jesus as the Life

- Jesus alone is the life who fulfills the Old Testament promises of life from God.



- Jesus gives eternal life to all those who believe in Him

Now, Jesus does not keep the Way, Truth and Life to Himself but always more than ready to grant it all to whoever believes in Him regardless of their status (may please examine among others the prodigal son's experience for more deeper insights )


Therefore, let us receive Jesus Christ, believe in Him, cast all our cares upon Him in total humility, and then He (Jesus) shall be able to rejuvenate us, lead us by His hand, and save us both in this life now and in the one to come.
